Make a good first impression

Appearance is perhaps the most critical element of building a positive first impression. Employers assume that what they see is what theyll get if they hire your candidate, so make sure that what they see is a consummate professional. Understand that dressing professionally is one of the rules of the business game. Dont expect to win the game if your break that rule.

Pay attention to details

Interviewers notice the little things. Sloppy manicures, missing buttons, scuffed shoes, stained lapels or snagged stocking are interpreted as signs that the candidate isnt detail-oriented. So make sure your entire outfit is impeccably clean and neat. For women, makeup is often a downfall. Keep it subtle.

Although they may seem unimportant to you, these rules are very important to interviewers. Employers assume that if you dont know anything about interview etiquette, you may not understand the rules of everyday-business etiquette, either.

Be on time

One of the basic laws of interview etiquette and one thats broken with surprisingly regularity is to arrive on time. Allow plenty of extra time to get to your interview; you never know when a traffic jam or other transportation catastrophe is going to occur. If you rum late because of some unavoidable problem, call ahead to let the interviewer know. Apologise profusely and ask whether the interviewer would prefer to reschedule.

Remember that youre the guest

Interview etiquette also says that you are the guest and the interviewer is the host. So dont sit down until the interviewer invites you to do so. Dont plop your briefcase down on the interviewers desk, and dont start fingering any office knickknacks, even if its one of those inviting little stress-relief gizmos. If you spy family pictures on the interviewers desk, resist the urge to comment, even though you might naturally do so if you were visiting that persons home. Raising the issue of families and children is something you want to avoid in an interview.

Dont chew gum or eat

Dont have anything in your mouth during the interview. That includes mints or gum. If the interviewer offers you a cup of coffee or other beverage, say that you will join them if they are having refrain if they are not.

Dont dismiss anyone

Be friendly, polite and respectful toward everyone you meet, from the receptionist at the front door to the interviewers secretary. Theres a good chance that all of these people will be asked to offer an opinion about you. So treat every encounter as a silent interview.

Be enthusiastic

Nearly all of the hiring managers who have shared their insights with me said that one of the first things they notice is the amount of enthusiasm a job candidate displays. FOREX 101: Make Money with Currency Trading

For those unfamiliar with the term, FOREX (FOReign EXchange market), refers to an international exchange market where currencies are bought and sold. The Foreign Exchange Market that we see today began in the 1970's, when free exchange rates and floating currencies were introduced. In such an environment only participants in the market determine the price of one currency against another, based upon supply and demand for that currency.

FOREX is a somewhat unique market for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is one of the few markets in which it can be said with very few qualifications that it is free of external controls and that it cannot be manipulated. It is also the largest liquid financial market, with trade reaching between 1 and 1.5 trillion US dollars a day. With this much money moving this fast, it is clear why a single investor would find it near impossible to significantly affect the price of a major currency. Furthermore, the liquidity of the market means that unlike some rarely traded stock, traders are able to open and close positions within a few seconds as there are always willing buyers and sellers.

Another somewhat unique characteristic of the FOREX money market is the variance of its participants. Investors find a number of reasons for entering the market, some as longer term hedge investors, while others utilize massive credit lines to seek large short term gains. Interestingly, unlike blue-chip stocks, which are usually most attractive only to the long term investor, the combination of rather constant but small daily fluctuations in currency prices, create an environment which attracts investors with a broad range of strategies.

How FOREX Works

Transactions in foreign currencies are not centralized on an exchange, unlike say the NYSE, and thus take place all over the world via telecommunications. Trade is open 24 hours a day from Sunday afternoon until Friday afternoon (00:00 GMT on Monday to 10:00 pm GMT on Friday). In almost every time zone around the world, there are dealers who will quote all major currencies. After deciding what currency the investor would like to purchase, he or she does so via one of these dealers (some of which can be found online). It is quite common practice for investors to speculate on currency prices by getting a credit line (which are available to those with capital as small as $500), and vastly increase their potential gains and losses. This is called marginal trading.

Marginal Trading

Marginal trading is simply the term used for trading with borrowed capital. It is appealing because of the fact that in FOREX investments can be made without a real money supply. This allows investors to invest much more money with fewer money transfer costs, and open bigger positions with a much smaller amount of actual capital. Thus, one can conduct relatively large transactions, very quickly and cheaply, with a small amount of initial capital. Marginal trading in an exchange market is quantified in lots. The term "lot" refers to approximately $100,000, an amount which can be obtained by putting up as little as 0.5% or $500.

EXAMPLE: You believe that signals in the market are indicating that the British Pound will go up against the US Dollar. You open 1 lot for buying the Pound with a 1% margin at the price of 1.49889 and wait for the exchange rate to climb. At some point in the future, your predictions come true and you decide to sell. You close the position at 1.5050 and earn 61 pips or about $405. Thus, on an initial capital investment of $1,000, you have made over 40% in profits. (Just as an example of how exchange rates change in the course of a day, an average daily change of the Euro (in Dollars) is about 70 to 100 pips.)

When you decide to close a position, the deposit sum that you originally made is returned to you and a calculation of your profits or losses is done. This profit or loss is then credited to your account.

Investment Strategies: Technical Analysis and Fundamental Analysis

The two fundamental strategies in investing in FOREX are Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis. Most small and medium sized investors in financial markets use Technical Analysis. This technique stems from the assumption that all information about the market and a particular currency's future fluctuations is found in the price chain. That is to say, that all factors which have an effect on the price have already been considered by the market and are thus reflected in the price. Essentially then, what this type of investor does is base his/her investments upon three fundamental suppositions. These are: that the movement of the market considers all factors, that the movement of prices is purposeful and directly tied to these events, and that history repeats itself. Someone utilizing technical analysis looks at the highest and lowest prices of a currency, the prices of opening and closing, and the volume of transactions. This investor does not try to outsmart the market, or even predict major long term trends, but simply looks at what has happened to that currency in the recent past, and predicts that the small fluctuations will generally continue just as they have before.

A Fundamental Analysis is one which analyzes the current situations in the country of the currency, including such things as its economy, its political situation, and other related rumors. By the numbers, a country's economy depends on a number of quantifiable measurements such as its Central Bank's interest rate, the national unemployment level, tax policy and the rate of inflation. An investor can also anticipate that less quantifiable occurrences, such as political unrest or transition will also have an effect on the market. Before basing all predictions on the factors alone, however, it is important to remember that investors must also keep in mind the expectations and anticipations of market participants. For just as in any stock market, the value of a currency is also based in large part on perceptions of and anticipations about that currency, not solely on its reality.

FOREX investing is one of the most potentially rewarding types of investments available. While certainly the risk is great, the ability to conduct marginal trading on FOREX means that potential profits are enormous relative to initial capital investments. Another benefit of FOREX is that its size prevents almost all attempts by others to influence the market for their own gain. So that when investing in foreign currency markets one can feel quite confident that the investment he or she is making has the same opportunity for profit as other investors throughout the world. While investing in FOREX short term requires a certain degree of diligence, investors who utilize a technical analysis can feel relatively confident that their own ability to read the daily fluctuations of the currency market are sufficiently adequate to give them the knowledge necessary to make informed investments.

What To Do If You Are Arrested

If ever you find yourself in a situation where a law officer takes you into custody then you must realize that you have been arrested. It is important for every citizen to know what it means to be arrested and what their rights are.

Telephones are now being offered on the 5.8 GHz band to help remedy this, and Bluetooth has taken its own steps to reduce interference and improve transmission quality. Version 1.1 of the Bluetooth standard greatly reduces interference issues, but requires completely different hardware from the original 1.0C standard, thus eliminating any chance of backwards compatibility.

The typical specifications of Bluetooth indicate a maximum transfer rate of 723 kbps and a range of 20-100 meters (65 to 328 feet - depending on the class of the device). This speed is a fraction of that offered by 802.11 b or g wireless standards, so it is obvious that Bluetooth doesnt pose a threat to replace your wireless network. Where most standard RF keyboard/mouse combinations have a range up to 6 feet; a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combination will usually have a range of up to 30 feet.

Bluetooth printer adaptors make sharing a printer extremely convenient by eliminating the need for any wires or special configurations on a typical network. Printing to any compatible HP printer from a PC, PDA or mobile phone can now be done easily from anywhere in the office.

Cheerleading Stunts

Have you ever seen a cheerleader in action? One cannot help but admire the execution of the different stunts done ever so flawlessly. Cheerleading has evolved from clapping and pom pom waving to the intricate, gymnastic routines we see today. The Patience of Job

Voltaire said, God is a comedian playing to an audience afraid to laugh. Translated, if youre a tight ass, theres a two drink minimum to read this article.

Let me just say, I believe in God but like many, Ive questioned His existence. Most people will say the reason they doubt Gods existence is because, If theres a God, why is there so much suffering, and why is there war? Blah, Blah, blah, blah blah

My sole reason for doubting the existence of God is work. (I, however, never question the existence of a higher power for I worship at his altar every day from 9 to 5.)

If there is a God why do we not have five-day weekends and two-day workweeks? Hes God. He can make it happen. In God we trust, right? Well I trust in God to give us a five-day weekend.

Think of the positives of a two-day work week. Youd say things like, Wow, that workweek really flew bye.

Think of what it would do for the economy because as Americans what are we really, but consumers? Think of it this way. If the United States Senate can get away with only working 110 days a year, why cant we?

Women will have five full days a week to shop, and tell men what to do. Maybe, just maybe, well have more time to spend with our kids so they dont remain a bunch of illiterate crack heads.

More people might believe in heaven because life on earth wont be such a living hell.

I believe, with faith, God will grant us my wish. Let me illustrate through the Bible. Isnt it ironic that in the book of the Bible where the name of the person who suffers the most is spelled J.O.B.?

The story of Job is one of perseverance. Job is given leprosy, has his family, money and worldly possessions taken from him and its all a test of faith. It is a horrible story! I didnt like it when I read it but I said. Fine, Hes God. He can do what He wants. After all, it is His world. Like Job, who am I to question?

What I can question are employers playing the part of God by expecting us to have the patience of Job in order to keep our job. They may not be giving us infectious diseases but they are sure taking our money, ruining our personal lives, and making work a living hell. (Personally, I dont have the patience of Job. Im like the Prodigal Son--at the first sign of a party Im off to the fatted cow happy hour for half-price matzoh and dollar shots of Manishevitz. If I need some bread Ill come back in the morning crawling on my hands and knees.)

In the Book of Job, Job finally said, Hey God, how bout a little something for the effort? God responded, Dont question my authority but youre right. I have been a little harsh on you. Job then had all his riches returned ten-fold. Now thats pretty just, is it not?

Well, Im asking, Hey God, how bout a five-day weekend, for the heck of it? (If you see me on the golf course mid-week youll know God answered my prayers.)

The difference between them and the aforementioned, are that they never stopped going after their goals.

Just becuase one business didn't work out for you, doesn't mean the next one won't. Ok, now you've found your perfect business, but you've had thirty straight rejections. Maybe you've posted ads every day, 15 hours a day, for four weeks, and you are not getting the response that you desire. Don't stop now!

It's quite possible that the very next person you talk to will come into your business or that the last ad that you'd rather not post for the day will bring you your next sale.

There are an endless amount of opportunities for those with laser-like focus, belief, determination, and the ability to take consistent inspired action. If you want to win you have to be in the game, because there truly are more than one "second chances" and you really can earn legitimate money online!!

Chinese Cooking Techniques

The variety of Chinese food dishes and Chinese food recipes available today is wider than in any previous decade. One can easily find Chinese food recipes for Chop Suey, which is not an authentic Chinese dish, along side of Hunan Beef. It is interesting to note that what many refer to as Chow Mein noodles is really a simpler crunchy version of the real thing.

In centuries past when the Chinese still used forks and knives is when the foundation for modern day Chinese cooking was formed. This is back when the cutting techniques and delicate flavors came together to form healthy hearty meals.

This is also when the three primary Chinese cooking techniques were formed.

The first Chinese cooking technique is stewing. Stewing can be either red or clear and is the simplest of the three methods. In clear stewing the clear liquid is brought to a boil and then allowed to simmer until the food is just tender. In red stewing a small amount of sugar and soy sauce is added which gives the stewed food a reddish tinge.

The second Chinese cooking technique is steaming. Steaming can be either wet or dry. The Chinese have used steaming as a primary cooking method for over 3000 years. Before ovens were common place steaming was a preferred method which allowed for moist flavorful food that retained most of its nutrients.

Frying is the third of the traditional Chinese cooking techniques. Frying can be either deep frying in oil or sauting. When deep frying the food is submersed in hot oil and allowed to cook until it floats. In sauting the meat, vegetables and garnishes are cooked quickly over high heat in a small amount of fat.
